      Hi All,

I am in the process of planning my first layout. It is a free standing layout with two different scenes. It is set of the far north line is Scotland with one half being a distillery which the railway runs through and the other being a rural station in a village with crofts surrounding it. It is a based on a 1.2m x 2.4m board.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Is the distillery the building with the tunnel under it? That’s a good idea! If it’s only a wee one, you only need a mash house, tun room and still house – which can all be under one roof like the Edradour distillery for example. Is that the L shaped building with the kiln in the corner building? That would be a great setup. You could have lorries carrying the casks away to bonded warehouses located off site. Lovely idea.

@Coventry_Railworks the distillery is on the top have of the image with the railway running throught it. I have taken inspiration from the distillery in Invergordon which has the far north line running through it.

The building that your thinking of is a small croft with house and shed.
