This is the progress on my next 009 TR loco. No.7 Tom Rolt, or Red Rolt because of the colour.
The body is an ERTL Duncan, that’s been modified to look more like the modified Irish locomotive.
I’ve dremeled out the space needed to accomadate the motor the other night. Looking pretty good so far!

Back in late April, I had a go at making a rail load, for a Bogie Bolster, using scrap/damaged track.
Rails were cut to size before gluing some matchsticks on the railhead, then adding a second stack of rails.
Once dry, I painted the rails with some brown paint, then mixed up darker browns and applied them to the wet paint. Some tamyia tape…

Found this wonderful site thanks to Buggleskelly station
Been a fan of model railways since 1999, had a few other years but here’s my last one. Marwyn Jnc, which has halted progress, was bought by me and my previous partner, 8x4ft on two boards but things went south and lost interest. We removed the track and relaid it.
Have plans for a 7x3ft…

Back to that “castle deflector” i mentioned earlier,
this was the test fit on my GWR castle (I wont be using this one for this mod) and they fit rather well! they just require some work towards the bottom of the deflector plates to rest properly on the footplate. This is using Royal Scot deflectors for the record.
